Great review! Do you think Trio is an update of Castor? I only listen to symphonies. My first IEM is S12 pro which is okay for violin and piano, but is bad for symphonies especially pieces from romantic period. My second is KZ ZAR, much better than S12 pro thanks to its dynamic and textured bass. However, its mid and treble are a little bid lack of focus (imaging? I don't know how to describe it). Now I settle on Castor bass version. Really love it.

dchen1109, I think the Trio improves on the Castor Harman (the version I have), but if you listen to symphonies you may prefer the PR3 which does have superior imaging and a better treble. This beautiful symphony sounds great on the PR3:

Headphoneus Supremus
Pros: Well accessorized
Beautiful and solid shells
Decent comfort and fit
Good isolation
Above average technicalities
Cons: Not the easiest to drive (low sensitivity)
Very hot in the upper mids/treble, with sibilance galore
Overly recessed midrange

Bass texturing and speed are middling

Headphoneus Supremus
Pros: -lush natural balance
-mid centric with mid bass boost goodness
-dense sweet timbre
-excellent male and female vocal free of sibilance or texture spike
-fast warm round thumpy bass
-fatigue free yet not boring musicality
-holographic intimate spatiality that embrace the listener
-tuning switch that can add bass or treble
-soft treble that have enough snap for percussions and guitar
-extremely addictive musicality (subjective)
-good isolation and construction
-good quality modular cable
-incredible accessories (especialy carrying case!)
-good sound value
Cons: -not the cleanest sound
-not the biggest nor deepest soundstage
-not the most extended sub bass
-not the airiest-sparkliest treble
-not a technical master for the price
-not for treble head or bass head
- one switch would have been enough

I'm very eager to hear what it should sounds like when paired to holo audio bliss or Azure, Not meaning your gears are not good, but I think those can't sing tungsten well which has extremely low sensitivity, and those are even not enough for hifiman gear's neither.

Pros: – Good accessories
– Comfortable fit
– Strong sub-bass rumble
– Smooth treble that resolves fairly well
– Good imaging and instrument separation
Cons: – The Truthear Nova have thin-sounding lower-mids
– Upper-midrange glare in tracks with low sub-bass
– BA timbre
– Microdynamics are not so evident

Great review👍

Interesting you ended up preferring the cheaper Simgot.

Can you elaborate on the thin sounding mids? Which instruments, drums or percussion suffers on this?

@dezzadk snare hits suffer from the thinner mids. Instruments like conga as well. Mostly percussive hits lack the body and impact I'd expect. Baritone vocals also do not sound as "fleshed out" as they should.

Pros: Overall, very good sound and representation in all three ranges.
- Great low end, with very particular bass, deep, dual, dark, rough, attractive and captivating.
- Very good ability to recreate detail and generate layers.
- Excellent cable with choice of balanced 4.4mm plug. Very good zipped case. Rose demonstrates that great capsules can be paired with great accessories and options such as various colours and SE and BAL plugs.
Cons: There is some imbalance in the midrange, between the first half and the second half. A little more homogeneity and smoothness in the upper-midrange would have been superior.
- MMCX interface.
- The shape and design generates some discomfort for me over time.
Although the cable and the zippered case are excellent, they only come with one set of tips.

Definitely pricing them out of reach for most consumers. Congrats they may sell 10 units. If it was priced at even $1500 it's still a major purchase for most consumers. I have no doubt these are totally awesome in every way but until the prices become more consumer friendly they are pricing them far out of reach for most. I would love to be able to hear a lot of the ( Flagship) gem's but for what I would spend traveling to a Can Jam , airfare, hotel, etc. I could actually buy a pair of $1500 buds ... as HBB says "at these prices these buds should crawl under the table and blow me" .. I'm not being negative or sarcastic but just stating the fact that it is what it is.....

@BDalton look at classifieds here and you will get some good deals. Unfortunately all good IEMs are getting crazy expensive to buy new.

New Head-Fier
Pros: Great bass
Mid-bass is well textured & doesn't bloat or bleed into the mids
Very detailed and natural sounding mids
Lush/Natural Vocals
Imaging & Soundstage
Beautiful Resin Shell
Awesome looking case
Cons: Somewhere in its treble, it can get weird peaks with certain songs.
Cable although really nice looking and looks very premium unfortunately gets stiff and finicky over time
Sounds better with wider eartips (to me but this is a nitpick)

Grrrrrrrrrrr, I literally just went to try an updated firrmware downgrade if that makes sense. After a completely full charge I open the case and notta, all power depleted, the left bud still have no operable use as far as I can tell. I’m about ready to throw these things out

IFI…PLEASE GET YOUR POOP STRAIGHT! I’m embarrassed for you! THIS OR advertise accordingly and stop misleading people. Who likes wires? if portable use to you means sitting in an arid part of the word on a cosier all day then I suppose you nailed it!

You may need to start a claim and have them send you a new set. I downloaded thr latest gaia from the website, disconnected the go pods, and after several tries, was able to connect both and roll back the firmware. I spent hours doing it though. Just file the claim on the broken set. If the other set isn't broken, then make sure you download the latest gaia to install, and then download the older firmware from there and your other set should be fine. It's either 1.49 or 1.42.

Thank you! I’ll do just that…..so frustrating. Enjoy your Sunday!
Pros: > Ultra-smooth, rich, vibrant, lush and captivating tonality
> Large atmospheric stage with fantastic macro detail, and subtle/nuanced micro detail
> The best I've heard for more relaxed genres with mids focus
> Premium and luxurious build - everything from the shells to the cable to the case(s)
> Utterly incredibly unboxing experience, without question the best I've experienced
Cons: > Shells are heavy and with a short nozzle that can prove difficult for some ears
> With the above in mind, I'd like to see a wider variety of tips included
> While the cable looks beautiful, and feels ultra-premium, it isn't the most ergonomic and can be tricky to manage
> Very occasional peaks in the uppers - I must emphasise VERY OCCASIONAL
> The $3K price tag...

Really well explained review. Hats off. I'm auditioning it at the moment and have to agree with your conclusions. One variation is that I have tried it with Moondrop Kato silver nozzles and I think that's the sweet spot with the 500LM. The questionable aspects are smoothed over and it becomes a more capable performer.

Pros: - Cost ( cheaper compared to many recent cable brands )
- Light weight
- amazing build quality
- signature look finish for all of their cables
- dark Background in all of their cables
- amazing tuning and litz structure technic use
- ConX for all cables
- good quality packaging in all cables non matter what price the cable is
Cons: - all the looks are similar it might be hard to tell which one is the most expensive one sometimes
- all the cables has tunings that you will feel the changes immediately, not so good for those who love less aggressive sound
- no super flagship level cables yet ( I'm hoping that can have 2K or 3K USD price point cable with the best tech and sound that can achieve so I know the limit of what they are capable of )
