ddHiFi came out with their new IEMs Janus 3. Is already second one with ddHiFi that came to me for review. 2 years ago, I tried Janus 2 and I want to say that difference between these two models is simply huge

Although at first glance it may seem that these are absolutely two identical models, Janus 2 and Janus 3, but this is absolutely not the case

Janus 2 had an interesting innovation. It was not unique for market and it was, but unique in performance of ddHiFi company in particular. Namely, use of two types of mmcx and 2pin connectors

There are two types of connectors missing. And this may seem like a step backwards, but it is completely wrong. This was done deliberately and I will now tell you why

In Janus 2, no matter what connector you use, you could freely place earphone in ear in Janus 3, connector is only on one side, and it has one type, that is, you can buy either with a 2-pin connectors, or with a mmcx connectors

ddHiFi did this because they changed the geometry of sound nozzle, which is directed into ear canal. Previously, sound nozzle in Janus 2 had a right angle. Now the sound nozzle in Janus 3 is shifted at an angle relative to shell body. This made it possible to achieve a greater level of sound insulation. Improved fit in ear and, in general, increased ease of use of headphones and IEMs

This technique has been used by a large number of companies before. And this is a very correct step, because it shows that manufacturer cares about his consumer and his client

I would say above average. This is a very high indicator for its not very high price, without forgetting about build quality of presentation and design

Neutral sound delivery allows you to listen to music in them for a very long time without experiencing negative feelings or discomfort. That is, these are universal headphones, these are headphones that can be alone in a collection and completely satisfy their owner, but again, I repeat

These are heavenly headphones. These are not high-frequency headphones for vocal lovers. These are universal headphones that cope with absolutely all styles of music and people who love honest reproduction of speech music, and or some other sounds. They will truly enjoy listening to them

I gave them to a fellow audiophile to try. I didn’t talk about my impressions about sound in advance, but he had exactly same impressions after listening to these headphones. This suggests that level of my subjective perception is perhaps somewhere close to reality, but again I am not the ultimate truth, so I am sharing what I hear myself and how I can tell about it

If I had a limited budget, or for example, I wanted to exchange some good quality headphones for a newer model of same good quality and high level. I always look at low-cost products with great interest, because high-cost IEMs with a large residual margin, they have great marketing support and are easier to sell, especially if the product is successful

Another thing is to produce an inexpensive product and do it at a very high level. This is exactly what the experimenters and great masters of Astrotec did. They released a Vesna product that is not expensive, but at the same time it looks very cool and is impeccably built. When I opened the box, I felt a thrill, my words will be confirmed by everyone who bought an Astrotec Vesna. You open the box and look at this design, the quality of materials, positive tactile sensations and think what is wrong here, maybe the design and construction quality is all that the manufacturer offered!? Well, for such a price, there can’t be a sound equal to everything else here...

I don't want to spread the hype, Vesna will do it without me lol

Sound. It's a very pleasant tone with an emphasis on the mids, but due to the very advanced driver and proper tuning, the treble and bass have very good resolution with such a small driver head. The imaginary stage is wide, the division of plans and micro-detalization make you want to listen to Vesna for a very long time

These are a bit dark iem, but this darkness makes the sound velvety and very comfortable with all genres of sound

Now I will do what I really dislike and do very rarely, namely, I will do a comparison. This must be done because this warrior has entered the territory of two of my favorite inexpensive iem. I'm talking about Quarks and Tanya, for their price they are great and each is unique and good in its own way

If I rank these three iems, my shortlist will look like this:

The Art Nouveau style was developed at beginning of the 20th century and gained immense popularity around the world. Its main distinguishing feature from other styles was the quintessence of high aesthetics, futurism and correct, but very complex lines, with abundant use of gold. Whizzer, in developing the HE03D, took these same principles, but embodied them not only in design, but also in sound, a kind of musical golden ratio

IEMs have a 12mm DLC 1DD driver. The shells are made of thick metal, look very reliable and impressive, due to the sophisticated design. The cable is made of oxygen-free copper, it is soft and does not tangle. On the one hand, it is concise, thin and not pretentious, but on the other hand, it is very high-quality and beautiful, its reliability and durability do not raise doubt. Shell, cable, eco leather case and all packaging are of impeccable workmanship

HE03D shells have an anatomical shape on one side, on the other hand they are not similar to shells from other manufacturers, they are medium in size and will fit 95% of people. I am very comfortable in them, even their weight is not small, I don’t feel at all, the weight balance and the angles of the shells are calculated accurately and correctly

This effect is achieved due to the emphasis on micro-detailing, which fascinates and opens up new facets of your favorite music

The bass is very tight, snappy and fast, the mids have body and weight, but are pushed back a little, but this can be easily adjusted by changing the eartips. High frequencies are legible and rich in detail. The overall tone is deceptive, because these iems are truly chameleons. These are the first IEMs that change the character of the sound very much just by replacing the eartips, this is something I have not seen before

Design and construction. Taking the Eagle in my hands, I got the feeling that the device costs not $130, but twice as expensive, the metal frame and glass panels give the impression of a premium product, I don't often have such sensations with Dongles, the last time I felt it with my Lotoo Paw S1, but it really is twice as expensive as the Eagle

The build quality is at the highest level, I have never held a Dongle for so long before listening to lol. There are no physical buttons on the case, but for me personally this is not an important option, especially for such a price. I would like to note that the American company manufactures this Dongle in Europe, namely in Yugoslavia, I will not make conclusions and comments on this, but on the face the highest quality of the device design, it is felt tactile and audiovisual

Sound. The first audition immediately caused a smile, because Eagle started playing exactly the way I like it, neutral, technical, legible and rich, without any color. The highs are palpable and crystal clear, the mids have structure and volume, the bass is punchy, rich and sinks to a very decent depth

When I choose IEMs, I often look for a neutral pitch, and here I found my favorite sound in Dongle. Recently, many manufacturers have been making such devices with an offset in the sound signature, it is not clear whether they do it deliberately or it turns out randomly. In this case, EarMen did not get the result by accident

The overall tone is neutral, but not dry, with excellent separation of plans. Brings life to absolutely all styles of music, from rock to hip-hop to acid jazz. This sound will never get bored, it can cause only one desire ... the desire to buy something more expensive from this brand lol, in order to dive deeper into the trademark honest and incredibly attractive EarMen sound

I highly recommend EarMen Eagle as the first serious mobile booster or to replace your annoying Dongle with clear accents. Eagle will be stuck in your heart and ears for a very long time...like mine
