“Mr. Blue Sky”
Pros: Strong out-of-the-box sound profile.
Very technical sounding iem.
The sound is amazing.
It's a special different iem, with a unique sound profile.
It's fun, the tips match the color them.
Piezo driver is technical.
Cons: Sound bleeds a little bit out, like a closed-back headphone.
Raptgo Hook X is a better value at 20 dollars cheaper.
Needs EQ, despite being a retune for me.
Sometimes you need a hit of that latest craze, a kiss, a high five, or just atta boy. You need something and “Mr. Blue Sky” delivers for me. It is one one of my favorite tracks from Guardians of the Galaxy and a solid happy piece. I look at this earphone and it reminds me of the name, but does it remind me of the happy-go-lucky feeling that I get from the song? Audio has so many earphones that look like everyone else.

I bought this iem with my own money. My opinions are my own.
You can buy this on Amazon or Linsoul.

I was looking forward to the HBB x Raptgo Hook. I have ranked and tried out the original Hook, but wanted to try something with a different look..

Song Choice: Tidal list here:
I listen to a wide variety of music. I pick the songs because of various reasons. But I picture myself locked away like Andy Dufresne from Shawshank blasting music and shut off from the world. It’s a blissful image.
The Marriage of Figaro -The opera song from Shawshank Redemption, terrible recording but fun and gets me in the mood to listen to music.
O mio Babino caro -This is a modern less operatic version but a song with great female vocals.
Video Rigoletto - “La donna e mobile” Sung by one of the three Tenors, great song for high-performing male vocals. Pavarotti is the greatest classic singer maybe ever. Fight me!
Iron man - The sound at the beginning is hard to make sound great, great drums, and cymbals, and if done right it feels like an old-school band.
I Will Survive (1981 recording, I like her voice, and the old vocals, the drums, and various natural instruments really make this a favorite for me.
There is a light That never goes out - Smiths ( A classic, I just love it. It’s mellow, and I can tell a lot of the tuning if this song is done right.)
Jump (I like how the sound effects are in this!)
Star Child Someone recommended this song to me, and I like how funky it sounds and has nice vocals and a mix of music and things going on.
Dicke Titten Ramstein The beginning is amazing and the bass hits hard. Great song. I love rock and metal. The German language fascinates me
Master of Puppets: Very fast song. Helps me determine if the driver can keep up.

Shell - The shell is very interesting. And I find it very recognizable and quality. It adds value as a unique product and is very fun. It’s quirky and bleeds out a little bit and allows you to hear your surroundings a little bit. It’s almost like having on open-backs. So this is definitely a fun feature, but I didn’t find it that impactful to the sound. Yet if you need it to be silent, the Hook X might not be for you.
so5aCL65fzgbXEY1oVHFyJ41Wb5T29E2cnc6hC_BvQ88Esj8Yo3ecMmvJkc_uKEQwDsIVf1_-fj3NSBJccubGH8k5aNbSwsqItC_I31OOLRyfDhqgenMP89vZ4WNfPy_HEOajoHULqiHXr341yrzbnE

Case- The Case is fine. It’s not a selling point for this iem, but it is acceptable. It’s bland, it’s expected, It is normal. It’s on the boring side for a slightly outlandish iem.
XQ5nS-MZWJbVJKAU1qQ5iTgyqu1QxBzB_xQwFXC1t_o0FhwBGgkB1nyGM6pNg0f0S2JNakIhHC_Ua1T_p2IgcTqthwmVwE30JutdoQLwYz2JumgVXb3MahR9AR1dHniX0I_TUUv62WqDsImuEnubUu0

Tip Selection - Tip selection is fun. The clear tips are blue to match the theme of this iem. There are 6 sets, and I feel it is a reasonable presentation of tips. I like the little package it comes in!
nQ6CwpdrXNV5Lho370ldMjOsCdnzQxG4qJBextV_cLiMpuSL5jvUgjAQM6k5DhavY7c7wG_09MBpgHHctSKosR3iGBCq6vh4BkSn3eUkNkJCUWa4aP39hxZBAppW7Rxo3eXwOCkwBe7M2IzGzswwLTY

Comparison: I hate to say it, but let’s compare it to the original Raptgo Hook. It’s basically the same with some slight tuning changes. I do like the blue a bit more, yet it’s premium for a somewhat minor tuning change.

Value: I don’t really value this iem at 260 or 240 dollars. It’s strong. But the original goes on sale sometimes used for 200 and would be a better pick up for value. My defacto pick at $200 is still the SeeAudio Yume 2. I wouldn’t really recommend this as a gift iem, except to a gamer friend who wants a technical gaming-focused iem. But there are other better options for that. You really have to like blue to want to buy this iem over the green one.

Sound: This is a graph brought to you by Aftersound. While this graph isn’t great, I do recognize that I used an average and a Left, but that is to show how extremely similar these two iems are. It’s really close, so minor differences. Technically it is extremely strong, and I would highly recommend this iem if you like the look of it and you EQ. If you don’t eq, I’d recommend many better options.

Yl-86lp0M6gdfKphL57G3XozJWyl_29eesUVK_5Em3lTIJppRHSuVGrFxaF_6Ew5XvCJkaADemeipG17AKx0aursf7Rw8-NqnGZbKhprJHc_mo8uVkrEWv1E0NOQ0r9qsYv__f8YgZhEMouX1ssf6D0

Pairing: I used a Quidelix 5k and a Topping DX1 dac through a SMSL SH-8s AMP. I don’t find the pairing to matter too much, but it certainly can.

Summary- 240 is a tough point. I can’t really recommend it at this price. While I find it a fun iem, great color, it is a lot like this guy, the tick.
mP15bq_x2Y4XpgUQVk8CJb2DZViNjoRWwRjjEIM9zvLUZiT5YM3_SnnstnS2yoDSJ3sWqnmssVQ4nZFdmeeR22GpY9zeCnEisfxdbHq_kX52xrVGLDDEBhGazyp3ioorvVH4SbErFRaToWhdmZ_VHsA

This iem is much more like a Tick a ridiculous superhero, rather than Doctor Manhattan. As in cute, unique, and sorta funny, but not a world-dominating blue capable of destroying the market like a Doctor Manhattan iem would be.

Funny, and enjoyable, but nothing to call home about. Like comfort food when you need a cheat day on your diet, it’s good, it’s yummy, but it’s not the greatest thing in the world. But again, it’s only a 260-dollar iem in a slew of boring iems, this one does stand out. This is a happy fun iem, with an open-back nature, it has a nice package and sounds fantastic with EQ.

Thanks for reading. Any feedback is welcome. I’ll be posting my preference list of iems, dacs, and headphones soon. It’s in process.

“The Twist”
Pros: Great imaging
Cable is tanglefree
Case is awesome
Waifus! (This could be a con depending if the wife sees this)
Cons: Lacks slam and speed
Tip selection is poor.
No keycaps included as a bonus
Chubby Checkers the Twist is a fun dancing song that makes me want to dance and feel good. I remember a time when my Mom and I did a little dance in the kitchen, and it was a beautiful moment. Not to mention it's a classic perfect song chalked with mostly good memories. It’s a song that is dear to my heart. It makes me want to dance, and feel great about life.

I bought this iem with my own money. My opinions are my own. We’ll talk about the twist in the summary.

You can buy this on Amazon, and soon on Hifigo. This links are links are unaffiliated.
I was looking forward to the Rinko. It’s an affordable set. I love my z12 and think it is very strong and fun. SeeAudio has had some solid products as of late with the TANGZU X SeeAudio being a reasonable set that has a beautiful shell, and the Yume 2 which is a major benchmark for me.

Shell - It’s very boring. Black shell. Overall this shell is a disappointment, as I didn’t find that it fit well, nor did I find it unique or fun.

sROO9X_lsxvgbsr3mWx8o90BtlLycuOaeLr4JVGsQ8JxbwNmTBrbIaVERhMGPxer3WubZ0L1uCi0_fUa39t-19YAyDbRzvIeKdvCUdj9S-QBmrX7XfdpzZ0-ngJR1V6vXlE22CHQtN8B8lAYZbvsQlg

Case- The Case is nice. Same case as the Yume 2. I have no problems with the case, and find that it adds value to the package.

Tip Selection - Its tip selection is Limited and only has 3 sets of tips included with it. I look at 20 dollar sets and find they have 6 or 7 sets with them, and I just feel this isn’t enough for a 100-dollar iem. I had to use tips from other iems, to get a good fit for myself. Not sure if this is a zeos or Seeaudio decision, but it's a very poor decision and will ruin this delightful iem for others. I am fancy, I tip rolled, but that saved this iem for me.

Comparison: I thought this was going to be a Legato, but with a Waifu and more resolving, it was not. I find it sonically a strong value comparison at this price range if you want a V-shaped iem. The Z12 will often go on sale for 135 and has an amazing cable (60 dollar cable) vs the cable in the Rinko feels about a 20 dollar cable.

Value: I don’t see a lot of value in this product. For those that really value the V-shaped iems, it could be good. Maybe you really want a v shaped iem, but can't wait for a z12 or have shortages in your country. I can’t recommend it to a friend. I couldn’t really gift it to anyone, knowing that other sets exist. Maybe giving it to Weeb friend, but I’d rather give them a cheaper iem and a few gift cards.

Sound: I just found it to be extremely shouty, and my music didn’t sound good on it. It got 3000% better when I added new tips. The stock tips didn’t work well for me at all. It was night and day.

This graph is brought to you by Hobby Talk. I find him very honest, fun, fair, and I 100% recommend him. He has a great unboxing for this if you are interested. (Unboxing here)
LbEVYbD-0zhxiew06bCxpMLhIHlzwBX14170Tza_pOa0LW_yQ32xZzwvkR49MOAEVBp3GiaB6kp-Fa_j9YRRxfyyCNHPXFIRqhHMnJU6LuZ6wpravnQCW8GpyQ2I5rJZuSWlF2BQofLDIZ6gW4azWdo

It was like a cheaper z12 in many ways. Cheaper cable, cheaper shell, and if you are like me those are the two most important things coming out of the box. The money in this goes to the Wafuu, not the presentation of the iem as a whole. If you want the Wafuu, or to Support Z reviews, get it. If you want an iem that sounds good with a similar V Shaped tuned, I’d go with the Z12 on sale.

Pairing: I used a Quidelix 5k and a Topping DX1 dac through an SMSL SH-8s AMP. I don’t find the pairing to matter too much, but it certainly can.

Summary- 100 is a tough point. Legato is a very fun sound that is at the same price and has a better package overall, and a much-improved sound. The package of the Legato is just smooth and fun, as is the sound. The iem is finicky, definitely try a few things before hating on this oddly packaged iem. It’s a solid pick, just not for me. I like SeeAudio, I like Zreviews, heck I even like Waifus, but I do not like this iem for music set but I could live with it. You go into an iem thinking it’s going to be great, and technical, but there is a twist: it’s just a 50-dollar set, with a waifu, in the Yume 2 box. Like an ice cream cone, it has some dark and some light. It should have added a keycap to the box, a prettier color to the iem, and had a pink cable. Lost opportunities. Now I’m going to enjoy some Icecream.

Thanks for reading. Any feedback is welcome. I’ll be posting my preference list of iems, dacs, and headphones soon. It’s in process.

"Out of Touch"
Pros: Great build quality
Iem is pretty, cable fit the shell design very well.
Tuned well.
Cable goes really well with the shells and presentation.
Cons: Average carrying case.
Needs a really good seal to sound even ok.
not the most engaging musicality
“Out of Touch”

I love the song Out of Touch by Daryl Hall and John Oats. It reminds me of good times and past love.
I bought this iem with my own money. My opinions are my own.

You can buy this on Linsoul or Amazon. Both links are unaffiliated.

Kiwi ears Cadenza is a personal favorite and a benchmark for me at the 35-dollar region. I have gifted them to friends in the past, and love the tuning. I was really looking forward to a big bother of the Cadenza. Let's see how it stacks up.

Shell - IT is a large shell, that feels very similar to the Blessing 2. It is more attractive than blessing 2, but I do have a minor complaint.

I expected the color to be much more vibrant, but I found it to be a faded almost jeweled Blue. Compare mine. (first on the desk, vs the stock photo below)

I find the Blessing 2 to be a bit fatiguing as the nozzle is a tiny bit large, and getting a good fit is hard. I feel the Kiwi ears lite is the exact same size. It’s just tough for me to deal with a nozzle that is large. It’s like my ears are rejecting the size. I can handle it but there is an ever-so-slight amount of discomfort with the shells.

Case- The case is pretty bland. This is the only thing that really makes this case different than the Cadenza. It’s not bad, but it’s a case I’d expect on a 50-dollar headphone, not a $250 dollar headphone.

Tip Selection - It’s tip selection is acceptable for an iem. It doesn’t add value to the iem. I had a very challenging time putting on some of the ear tips when ear rolling. It just wasn’t easy due to the nozzle size of the Orchestra Lite.

Comparison: The Yume 2 at 200 dollars sounds better, fits better, and has a better package. The Aful performer 5 is also better at only 220 (often on sale for 200). I really want to like this iem, but it’s just ok. Sonically it’s worse than iems cheaper for me, much cheaper.

Cable: This is a fine cable. It fits the style of the iem and is the best part of the package. Nothing special about it, but you won’t instantly need to buy a new Hola just to re-cable this with the fantastic Truthear Hola Cable. I don’t really believe cables sonically change the iem, but they are nice.

Value: I don’t find the Kiwi ears Orchestra lite to be a good value product. 250 is competitive. I would rate it about the same as the Hexa sonically, or even less so.

Sound: The Timbre is fine. The base response is fine, seems inoffensive.
When I tried some eq I found it was improved, but not super resolving.
crC31x8BfUWd7_CEXR7kma1MmDc8fd_6SjEfQrMSDxKyK_lyQUPVWokyABdvuEs3WV8DzMUMhKKUZtuwajgQksnbbEplGRkaYrAmhImxrV_D7OsclPbdvOZXwK3W7zz46e8Xe5PJgc2klYSi9WDBrjk

Pairing: I used a Quidelix 5k and a Topping DX1 on this. Both sounded fantastic. This was also used on the fantastic apple dongle and sounded great as well. I'm not a huge believer in dac or amps changing most headphones, but I also wanted to be transparent about what I used on this iem.

Summary- It’s ok. If you really like the look, I can see how you would love it. The sound isn’t worth it for the cash. It feels that it doesn’t justify the price. If you are looking for a blessing 2 dusk, but slightly different, it could be a good value. It is a very pretty good sounding iem, but not perfect.

I would pass on this. I like the iem, but don’t feel it’s a great value for me. The Cadenza is better, prettier, and fits better. 250 is a tough place as it is significantly more than the Yume 2k, Moondrop Kato or Aful 5 but not any better. I'd say beautiful, but sonically worse. 250 is a weird spot, you can only really compare it to iems that are a bit more, or a bit less. If you want an iem with this look, and the size doesn't bother you, I'd give it a recommendation. But it feels like a luxury pretty set, not a benchmark or fun iem.

Mine had one bright colored one one muted one, I didn't mind so much the looks but the sound was just vanilla. The lack of BAness was disappointing not so much the tonality but the lack of resolution and details killed it for me. I was expecting mire from this price range as well.
You described them they way I heard them thanks. TDM

You can try this EQ and see how it goes:
  • 60hz +5
  • 125hz +3
  • 2kHz +1
  • 4kHz +1 to 3 depending on taste
  • 16kHz +5
This would give edge and snap to the sound and let the air through.

Use Spin fit if you have. I found stock tips quite useless with these. They went to the bin with the box after review.

“Come and Get your Love”
Pros: Base
Sounds great in Videos, the rumble is a good effect.
Fantastic packaging. Cable, case, and tips are premium.
Detail retrieval is high at the price.
Shell is comfortable in my ear and is easy to listen to.
Cons: Some sounds can be a little muddy.
Doesn't seem to take EQ well.
“Come and Get your Love”

It’s 1985, It’s the weekend, you want to watch a movie. You want to be at your buddy’s home with the subwoofer. You want to dance next to the basy speaker to feels something. You are listening to what is considered by many the weekend national anthem. Good then, good now when redone for Guardians of the Galaxy.

When I listened to music back in the day on my Dad’s old Plymouth duster it had this basy tube feel that can’t be described other than awesome. You could feel some vibrations, and the feel of it all. It’s this feeling of why the Legato should be in your library. A reminiscent of times old.

I bought this iem with my own money. Blah Blah, my opinions are my own. I got it at Linsoul, but it’s also at Hifigo, and Amazon. 7hz, they are an interesting company. Some Bangers, some fit problems in the past, but great packaging overall. The timeless is a benchmark for many, as is the 7hz zero. How does the Legato do? Let’s find out.

Master of Puppets: Very fast song. Helps me determine if the driver can keep up.

Shell - For reference, I find the Dioko kinda ugly and doesn’t fit my ears well. It feels… large. Invasive and just a weird shape. This is not the case at all with the Legato. It’s handsome, it feels good in the ear and I can wear it all day.

Case- This is a premium feeling case that has strong value. I’d prefer black, but dark red is classy and fun. This is maybe the best case of any iem ever. It’s large to take with you on the go, and it fits a Quidelix 5k or any dongle with you. Great for travel, better than most!

Comparison: It sound better than the HBB Khan. The extra driver might be what is doing it for me. HBB x Khan isn’t as good. The Legato is just better, but it’s over twice the price. HBB compares the two here, and I’d recommend the video.

Cable: It is a fine cable, and a nice dark color. It fits the theme of the iem and I appreciate that it is flexible, and doens’t tangle. High Quality cable! I don’t believe in the sonic qualities of cables, but sometimes connectors can be bad, or not fit right. The cable has a circle at the end so it won’t fit many other iems. It’s basically the same cable as the 7hz Dioko. It adds value for sure.

Value: This is a premium feeling headphone for the cost of apple air pods 2. They feel like a great gift to a friend, and a great travel reference set for yourself. Maybe endgame depending on what you need. It is the defato recommendation around 200 for me at this time. If I guessed the price, I’d say 300 dollars. It’s just a nice package out of the box for the price, sound is fantastic as well. Want a true no BS Hifi experience. Here ya go. Delivered in a tactful presentation you could give your parents, in-laws, or even as wedding gift that would feel great. Gifts! This is the best gift iem I could ever think of.

Sound: The Timbre is perfect for me. The highs seem natural and my music sounds fantastic on it with no eq. With Eq, it’s even better. I tune it down a tiny bit and it sounds like a more resolving Truthear x Zero. Imagining might be the strongest of any iem I’ve heard. Fresh reviews did a review of it recently. He also recommends it. It’s very fun, and enjoyable. It gave me that magical feeling that you can’t really describe in music and videos. It was excellent for watching movies and I was shocked how my library sounded fantastic on it. Here is a graph, shameless stolen from HBB graphs. You can see the Legato is a bit higher than the Monarch MKII, but it’s not a crazy amount.

Summary- You’ll either love or hate the tuning. I find it like a breath of fresh air in a market that is saturated with Harmon target iems.

This is an cautious recommendation for me. It’s a modern Iem that is beautiful and unique. It’s different, yet I find high value in the build quality and other things. It could add to your collections, and make a great gift to an older friend, or someone who likes base. It reminds me of my Dad for some reason, and I think he might like it. This is one of my first iem reviews, and I hope you enjoyed it.

Nice review! I also like the gigantic case. It can fit both the IEM and my Topping G5 inside.

Also agree that detail retrieval is surprisingly acceptable.

I need to measure my unit and see what's going on. It does not sound that giga bass, but somewhat Harman with more bass boost than usual. Maybe fit or seal or something.

Topping g5 is a fantastic unit! Thanks!

500+ Head-Fier
‘’Shining Star”
Pros: Overall balanced sound
Lightweight and comfortable to wear
Classy IEM. No Waifu.
Awesome sarcastic name.
Cons: Needs a base shelf.
Imagine a walk in the park. A Tuesday and you are trying to get some steps in and you see a shooting star. This is the history of the inspiration of Shing Star. A great song by Earth Wind and Fire sings this song. It’s snappy and fun to test headphones on. A shooting star is unexpected and beautiful. I had low expectations from the Aful performer, the name might have something to do with it. This headphone is a superstar, fun beautiful, and something to take home to mom.

I bought this iem with my own money. I’ll give you a hint. It’s a keeper. It’s fantastic, fun, and has great detail and frequency response.

A brief history, Aful was founded in 2018. They do have another iem, but it is no longer in production. This is their true entrance into the brand. The Aful 8 their next iem is currently for sale on hifigo. The company has a few patients and a strong vision of what they want to do. They want to achieve high-performing iems at a reasonable price. I encourage you to read up on the company. This company excites me about the Hifi Space and gives me hope for a new world, not many do.

The aful 8 looks Aful fantastic! But this review is about the Aful 5.

Jump I like how the sound effects are in this!

Star Child Someone recommended this song to me, and I like how funky it sounds and has nice vocals and a mix of music and things going on.

Dicke Titten Ramstein The beginning is amazing and the base hits hard. Great song. I love rock and metal. The german language fascinates me.

Master of Puppets: Very fast song. Helps me determine if the driver can keep up.

Shell - I find the Blessing 2 dusk to be a bit fatiguing as the nozzle is a tiny bit large, and getting a good fit is hard. This is not the case with the Performer 5. It has a smooth shell, and fits well. It feels like Theiaudio shells which are much more expensive. It has an ergonomic design that I can wear all day.

Case- This is a premium feeling case that has strong value. You will see it with much more expensive sets. I really like it. I normally coil my iems in a circle so this works great for that. Look at the case of the 7th Ascoutic Supernova a 750 dollar iem to compare.

pre-order-aful-performer5-1dd-4ba-iems-earphone-hifigo-686244_700x700.jpg

Tip Selection - Normally tips don’t get me out of bed. I ram them into my ear and am happy as one could be. These tips, are just amazing. Red and blue coordinated to easily know which side to put in what ear. A novel concept from an upcoming brand. Packaging isn’t everything but it shows care, thought, precision, and ingenuity.

Comparison: I find it more resolving than the YUME 2. I find this iem can do micro details better. While it isn’t as strong as the Blessing 2 Dusk sonically. I do find them a good fit, a much better package. I can only wear the Blessing 2 dusk for a few hours, Aful performer was worn all day on multiple occasions.

Cable - This is a fine cable. I don’t believe in the sound quality of cables, but it lays flat. It’s almost as nice as the Truthear Hola Cable which is high praise. No issues, and one of the better cables I find. I don’t enjoy cables with balanced connectors as I don’t feel that they are super necessary.

Value- This is a premium feeling headphone for the cost of apple air pods 2. Want a true no BS Hifi experience? Here ya go. Delivered in a tactful presentation you could give your parents, in-laws, or even as wedding gift that would feel great. Gifts! This is the best gift iem I could ever think of.

Music - The Timbre is perfect for me. The highs seem natural and my music sounds fantastic on it with no eq. With Eq, it’s even better. Just a solid star in my eyes. Imagining might be the strongest of any iem I’ve heard. It’s very fun, and enjoyable. It’s not as fast as some other iems that price more than this, but for others in the price range, it’s very strong. It gave me that magical feeling that you can’t really describe in music and videos.

Cons- I’d recommend adding some EQ to this. I enjoy a slight base shelf to many of my iems and headphones. I personally recommend using EQ

This is an easy recommendation for me. It’s a modern Iem that is beautiful and unique. It could easily be more expensive and people could find value based on the presentation and sound. This is my first iem review, and I hope you enjoyed it.

Loved that thoughts on this IEM. When I first got mine, it did take some burn in hours to settle. But once this was over, yes…this $200 IEM made me return my $600 Oracle 2. Can’t promise it will beat all $600 IEMs but it was better than the Oracle in clarity, resolution, comfort, and bass. The law of diminishing returns is a real thing especially in IEMs. I would say after experiencing $20-$600 IEMs, the best IEMs are found in that $200-$300 range.
