Technical Reasons Why DAP Hardware is Better than a Smartphone

Without recommending you get into a discussion with this individual that would likely lead to no where, it is important to understand what this guy is trying to assert. Is it because both use Android and therefore it is the same? Not sure what they are trying to state here. This is also putting...

Symphonium Audio - New Singaporean IEM Manufacturer

Just published my review on the Symphonium Crimson! Many thanks to Symphonium and @Damz87 for arranging the Australian tour of these! After being somewhat disappointed with the Helios, these just blew me away with how great they sounded! Excellent tonal balance and great techs!

Review by 'grumpy213' on item 'Symphonium Audio Crimson'

Preamble Many thanks to @Damz87 and Symphonium for arranging the Australian Head-Fi tour of the Symphonium Crimson It is interesting how an IEM can shape your perception of a manufacturer and create biases that influence further impressions of their products. The first impression is crucial...

    The discovery thread!

Agreed! 3DT definitely dispelled my preconceived notions of what a triple DD should sound like (ahem Trifecta) and despite not being my favourite was quite surprising in terms of it's staging!

    The discovery thread!

Enjoy running through your library to see how Anni does things differently! It made me track down percussion heavy tracks just to listen to that treble!

I always refer to a certain IEM as Areola Trailer so you’re not too far off with poor substitutes

thou shalt be skeptical of impressions from deaf ears; thou shalt be skeptical of thine own ears and get audiologists to take a look; thou shalt not look at /r/headphones except for a laugh from time to time; thou shalt demo and blind buy only if intoxicated; thou shalt not justify IEM based on...

@boys the Anni’s bass is quite good but in comparison to IEMs such as XE6 or RN6 you definitely feel like there is some bass shortage. My nitpick with the bass is that it could be “tighter” and more “controlled”. When listened to as a whole picture (bass, mids and treble) the Anni is...

    Shanling M6 Ultra - 4x AKM AK4493S DAC, Snapdragon 665, Android 10 DAP

Line out is bypassing the amp stage of the M6. The DAC is converting to analogue and then handing off to your XD05 to amplify. USB would be digital signal transfer hand off to the XD05 to convert to analogue and then amplify. You could use your phone through usb and it would likely sound the...
